Earthy smoothie that’s both sweet — from the pineapple–and slightly spicy– from the ginger. This a refreshing, healthy treat that can be eaten for breakfast or for a pick-me-up, energizing snack.

Ingredients

1-2 cups of greens (spinach or kale)

1 cup diced pineapple

1 green apple, sliced

1 teaspoon ground ginger

2 Tablespoons ground flaxseed

1-2 Tablespoons cashew or almond butter (swap in a seed butter for nut allergies)

Water, a need for desire texture and consistency

Ice, as needed

To make the smoothie a little sweeter, add in 1-2 dates or ½ a frozen, ripe banana.

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:

Sliced almonds

Unsweetened coconut flakes

Hemp Seeds

Sliced apples, kiwi, and/or pineapple

Instructions
  1. Wash and prep the produce. Combine the greens, pineapple, apple, ginger, flax, and nut butter in a blender. Start with 1 cup of water and add more as needed for thinning. Add ice, until it reaches desired texture. Blend until smooth.
